People often see the finished product.

The box arriving at a family’s doorstep.

The event that comes together.

The smiling photos.

The impact.

What they don’t see is everything happening behind the scenes.

Blessings for Barrett isn’t “just a nonprofit.” It’s a second full-time job fueled by purpose.

As co-founders, we both work full-time careers. We have three young kids. Most of the work for the nonprofit happens after bedtime, late into the evening, when the house finally gets quiet.

We’re constantly iterating.

We’re working with manufacturers and supply chain partners to create better, more meaningful products. Negotiating pricing. Comparing samples. Refining designs. Finding ways to make each comfort box more personalized and more branded without losing sight of being good stewards of every donated dollar.

We’re planning events months in advance. Coordinating volunteers. Reaching out for partnerships. Writing grants. Packing boxes. Shipping resources across the country. Answering emails. Brainstorming new ideas. Solving problems we didn’t know we’d have to solve.

And then we wake up and do it all again.

None of this happens overnight. It happens because of consistency. Small steps, every single day.

There are certainly easier ways to spend our evenings, but when you know a grieving child is on the other side of the work, it changes everything.

The impact people see is only possible because of countless unseen hours behind the scenes.

And every single one of them is worth it. ❤️
