Why Early Grief Support for Siblings Matters

Why Early Grief Support for Siblings Matters

At Blessings for Barrett, we believe that grief support for children—especially those who have lost a sibling—should start as early as possible. When a child experiences sibling loss, they’re often overlooked in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy. Yet their grief is deep, unique, and incredibly important.

That’s where we come in.

Our nonprofit specializes in delivering custom sibling grief boxes, hospital comfort bags, and ongoing grief projects to children who have lost a brother or sister. Whether it’s the first day after the loss or the one-year anniversary, we make it a priority to show up with love, resources, and a reminder that their sibling’s memory still matters.

Through creative activities, memory-making projects, and tangible items designed just for them, our programs help kids feel seen, supported, and connected.

Grieving children deserve more than “stay strong.”They deserve tools, support, and people who show up—again and again.
